OVERVIEW OF PE ID - PARENT ENTITY ID
A Principal Entity (PE) can be a person or an enterprise in the business of products and services, engaged in commercial communication. As per the regulations from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), all Principal Entities should be registered within the Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) platform before using the platform to send commercial communication like SMS or voice.

Principal Entity (PE) Roles

DLT Platform Registration: Register to the DLT platform of the telco operator by submitting all the information requested.

Header and Template Enrollment: Register all Headers (Sender Names) and Message Templates on the DLT platform.

Telemarketer Selection:Choose a registered telemarketer and grant them permission to send communication (SMS and Voice) on the entity's behalf.

Consent Acquisition: Obtain consent from the customer for communication and upload the details of consent in the DLT Platform.
How to Register as a Principal Entity (PE)

Visit the Operator DLT Portal: Open OPERATOR DLT PORTAL and open the "Principal Entity (PE)" tab, and click on the "New Registration" button.

Determine Registration Status: - Select "No" if this is the first time you are registering. - Select "Yes" if you are registered with another access provider and have an Entity ID.

Give Necessary Details: Submit valid business PAN/TAN, details of authorized person (mobile number & email ID), business proofs and valid KYC documents.

Submit KYC Documents:Government PE: Email from competent authority, letter on official letter head, TAN, GST Certificate. Non-Government PE: TAN, Trade License, Shops & Establishment Registration Certificate, GST Registration, Certificate of Incorporation.

Validation Process -The TSP Registrar will authenticate and verify this information within 72 working hours.

Approval and Activation: Once registration is successful, the registrar for the TSP will approve, register, and activate the Reference ID on the DLT platform.

Payment Process: Principal Entity is supposed to release the payment within 30 days of the cooling period after the verification. The option for payment shall be available after login by the entity.

PE ID Issue: Once payment is successful, the PE ID and registration certificate of the Principal Entity will be sent through the registered email.
Key Points about PE ID

Uniqueness: The PE ID is unique across all access providers in India.

Reusability: The PE ID received by the Principal Entity after registration can be used for registration across different access providers.

Validity: If the entity fails to submit the required documents or address any queries within 15 working days, the account will be deleted, and the entity must re-register
Compliance and Restriction

Usage: A Principal Entity (PE) shall not broadcast commercial communication unrelated to its line of business. The message shall be consistent with the PE's registered line of business.

Authorized Communication: The PE ID Enables entities to send SMS and voice communications legally and securely to their customers.
